How SideClue handles your data
SideClue is a desktop app for live coaching and post-call meeting notes — without a meeting bot or cloud recording. Here is exactly what each kind of data is used for, whether it leaves your device, and whether it is stored.
Stays on your device
The overlay, session controls, and a local copy of your sessions run on your computer (Windows or Mac). SideClue never records your call audio to the cloud.
Processed during a session
While a session is running, audio is converted to transcript text in real time over an encrypted connection. Transcript text and your company knowledge are sent to SideClue over HTTPS to generate live answers and post-call meeting notes.
Never collected
We do not keep audio recordings, video, screen captures, or participant lists. SideClue does not join your meeting as a bot.
Retention
Call audio is processed in the moment and not kept. Transcripts and meeting notes can sync to your SideClue account when cloud sync is enabled (turn this off in Settings). You can delete individual sessions from your account at any time.

FAQ
Can other call participants tell I'm using SideClue?
No. SideClue runs as a private desktop overlay on your screen. It does not join the call, show up in participant lists, or send anything visible to other attendees. Follow your own company's call consent policy.
Does SideClue record the call?
No. Call audio is processed in real time to create a live transcript, then discarded. There is no cloud recording. Transcripts and meeting notes may sync to your account when cloud sync is on — a local copy always remains on your device.
Who sees my transcripts?
Transcript text is sent to SideClue over an encrypted connection to generate live answers and meeting notes. When cloud sync is enabled, sessions appear in your SideClue account. They are not shared with your team or stored in a shared archive.
Is SideClue compliant with call recording laws?
SideClue is a coaching and answer tool, not a call recorder. You are responsible for following the laws and policies that apply to your calls and jurisdiction. Because SideClue does not record or store call audio, it is designed differently from traditional recording tools.
